Job Description

little Sprouts Childcare is certified childcare center open 7:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday providing care for children 6weeks to 6years of age. We believe children learn best through play-based learning in a safe and nurturing environment to explore and thrive. Our goal is to provide positive experiences for children to develop a sense of independence and self-discipline through hands on activities and social interactions. We are looking for fun-loving, energetic, compassionate people to join our team! We are looking for a second teacher for our toddler classroom(24mo-36mo) as well as someone who could help out with breaks from time to time.
Responsibilities:
Planning age appropriate curriculum and activities Directly supervise age appropriate activities to ensure safety at all times. Provide a safe learning environment through the use of consistent limits, appropriate positive guidance techniques, and respectful attitudes and actions. Maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment, cleaning up after projects and meals as well as sanitizing and cleaning the classroom at the end of the day. Help with daily diaper changes, as well as assisting with potty training Help serve meals and snacks Help build each child's self-esteem and confidence with encouragement, praise, and positive feedback. Effectively communicate with parents and fellow employees Ability to maintain daily classroom record keeping Must be able to change positions frequently from sitting on the floor to standing throughout the day, as well as lifting children for diaper changing. Other responsibilities necessary
Requirements:
Be enrolled in the Oregon Criminal Background Registry Have or be able to obtain infant/toddler/adult First Aid and CPR Certificates Have or be able to obtain and Oregon Food Handlers Card Have or be able to obtain a Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse Certificate Attend at least 15 hours of continuing education Early Childhood trainings yearly Have at least 1 years experience in Childcare or teaching at certified center or school.
