Salary:
$53,683.89•99,647.38 (DOE), prorated based upon FTE.
Insurance:

SUMMARY:
KECDC is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our team. This position involves creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters growth across all domains, including cognitive, social-emotional, language and communication, literacy, and physical development. The teacher may also provide guidance and functional supervision to classroom aides or assistants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are examples of primary duties and responsibilities. This list is not exhaustive and may not include all tasks expected of the employee.
Organizes and provides developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs; plans and implements curriculum for children ages 3 to 5 years.
Adapts classroom activities to support individualized learning plans within established lesson frameworks.
Administers, under supervision, first aid and assistance to medically fragile children (e.g., tube feeding, toileting, diapering) to ensure proper care is provided.
Leads, trains, and supervises educational assistants, student teachers, and/or volunteers to support an effective classroom environment and meet individual student needs.
Monitors student behavior and activities in various settings (e.g., classroom, playground, field trips) to promote a safe and positive learning environment.
Responds to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns and/or notify appropriate personnel.
Collaborates with program staff, families, agencies, medical providers, and community partners to support improved child outcomes in a relationship-based setting.
Conducts and compiles individual assessments of each child's development; maintains daily records, attendance, and related documentation.
Evaluates children's progress toward goals (e.g., social-emotional development, motor skills, adaptive behavior, language acquisition) to provide feedback to families, teams, and administrators.
Participates in relevant professional development to improve instructional practices in early childhood education.
May lead, guide, and train staff, student employees, interns, and/or volunteers; may assist with recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate.
Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g., newsletters, attendance records, anecdotal notes) to document progress and meet required reporting standards.
Reports incidents (e.g., suspected abuse, injuries) in accordance with legal and district policies to maintain child safety and program compliance.
Meets performance standards as outlined in the district's evaluation process.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Hold or qualify for an Oregon teaching license; or possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field; or hold current registration with Oregon Registry Online (ORO) at Step 8 or higher.
Familiarity with state standards, curriculum frameworks, and differentiated instruction
Knowledge of early childhood development, including typical and atypical benchmarks
Ability to develop and use standardized/curriculum-based assessments
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of education laws, student/staff rights, and professional ethics (OAR 584-020-0000)
Ability to manage classrooms, supervise staff, and maintain a positive learning environment
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, families, staff, and community partners
Proficient with technology and software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
Ability to complete documentation accurately and on time
Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and district policies
Maintain regular attendance, professional appearance, and hygiene
Hold a valid Oregon Driver's License and CPR/First Aid certification (or obtain)
Comply with Central Background Registry requirements
Participate in ongoing professional development
