OVERVIEW

Discovery Zone is a faith-based early childhood program committed to providing a nurturing, play-based environment where children are known, loved families are encouraged. We're looking for a teacher-qualified Transition Teacher to support classrooms throughout our center. In this role, you'll build relationships with children and staff across multiple age groups, provide classroom coverage and support, and help ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for every child. Your flexibility, positive attitude, and strong teaching skills will make you an essential part of our team. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for young children .

POSITION SUMMARY

Support classrooms across multiple age groups, collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure consistent coverage and support. Provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers Act as lead classroom teacher when classroom teachers are out.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be "Teacher Qualified" according to Oregon's Rules for Certified Child Care Centers by having attained ONE of the following: At least 1 year full-time in a certified child care center An Associate Degree in early childhood education or a related field OR At least a step 6 in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) OR CDA credential

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

These physical requirements must be met in order to successfully perform this teaching job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to: Walk on a frequent basis. Stand or sit for long periods of time. Lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds in case of an emergency.

Pay:

$18.50 - $21.50 per hour
