We're looking for a candidate with a fun personality who loves caring for children who are eight weeks to 2 years old, planning engaging activities, and helping each child reach the next milestone. About Riviera Christian School & Childcare As a ministry of West Hills Community Church (WHCC), Riviera Christian School (RCS) has been providing children with a foundation in Christ and a quality academic education. The childcare center was added to RCS to help support the needs of our teachers, and was eventually expanded to include other families from our surrounding community. The faculty and staff serve together to provide Christ-centered training for the children in their care Our childcare operates 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional closures for holidays and in-service.
Ideal candidates:
Love Jesus and enjoy working with young children Are practicing Christians, participating in a local church Has prior experience working with infants and young toddlers Meet all the Oregon requirements for Child Care Teacher, as required by the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) Has a clear Central Background Registry (CBR) background check, as required by the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) Are familiar with child development (birth to age 11) Demonstrate effective communication Are able to get up and down off the floor, pick up children, etc. Are well-organized and dependable Key Responsibilities As a teacher, the candidate will be responsible for: Leading a childcare classroom (including supervision of children and support staff, documentation, cleaning, meeting children's needs, lesson planning, etc.) Communicating effectively with children, parents, staff, and leadership Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities Help ensure that the classroom is following current child care rules, as established by DELC Benefits for Our Teachers We value our staff and strive to create a Christ-centered environment where they feel supported and have opportunities for growth.
