Cuculi Home Daycare | Tigard & Beaverton Area Are you someone who truly loves working with babies and toddlers? Are you warm, joyful, creative, confident, and ready to take a leadership role in a nurturing early childhood environment? Cuculi Home Daycare is looking for an experienced Lead Teacher to join our growing Spanish-immersion childcare community. We are looking for someone who wants more than just a job. ABOUT CUCULI
Cuculi is a Spanish-immersion, Waldorf-inspired home daycare where children experience their early years surrounded by warmth, creativity, music, movement, nature, sensory exploration, play, and meaningful daily rhythms. Our philosophy is centered around creating a second home for children — a place where they feel safe, loved, respected, and encouraged to become confident and independent little people.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal Lead Teacher is: Loving, sweet, patient, and genuinely affectionate with babies and toddlers Cheerful, charismatic, and able to bring positive energy into the classroom Creative and excited to develop meaningful, age-appropriate activities A natural leader who can confidently guide and support other teachers Proactive and able to take initiative without needing constant direction Responsible, dependable, organized, and professional Calm and attentive, especially during challenging moments Able to observe children and understand their individual needs Comfortable communicating and collaborating with families and team members Interested in Waldorf-inspired education, nature-based learning, sensory experiences, music, art, and child development Looking for a serious, stable, long-term position
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 2 years of professional experience working directly with infants and toddlers. Experience working with groups of young children in a daycare, preschool, childcare center, or similar early childhood setting is strongly preferred. Because Cuculi is a Spanish-immersion daycare , our environment is centered around Spanish language and culture. English is a plus, but it is NOT required.
LEAD TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Lead Teacher, you will: Create a loving, safe, peaceful, and engaging classroom environment Lead the daily classroom rhythm and routines Plan creative, sensory, artistic, musical, outdoor, and developmental activities Support babies and toddlers through meals, naps, diapering, transitions, and daily care Observe each child's development, interests, and individual needs Provide gentle guidance and emotional support Communicate important information with families and Cuculi leadership Guide and collaborate with Teacher Assistants Help maintain an organized, beautiful, clean, and welcoming environment Take initiative and contribute ideas to continuously improve the classroom Follow all childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
