Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and tailored to meet individual student needs. Implement instructional modifications and accommodations based on IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and special education law requirements. Utilize educational technology tools and learning technology platforms to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies for students with disabilities or behavioral health needs. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements to foster strong partnerships. Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists (such as speech therapists or occupational therapists), and support staff to coordinate instruction and share best practices. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data to inform instruction and report on outcomes. Requirements CDA, Associates, Bachelors preferred but not required Proven experience working with children or students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs. Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, instructional modifications, and behavioral therapy techniques. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and support professionals. Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning platforms, and instructional design methods. Classroom management skills that promote a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including visually impaired or hearing-impaired students.
