Job Description
Hoffman Homes is a community of employees gathered on one campus to help children understand and manage their mental health diagnosis. Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age High School Diploma or equivalent Education, within the mental health field and/or experience working with children, is desired but not required. Strong desire to help an at-risk group of children. Requires the ability to stay active, make good decisions within a busy environment and maintain a calm demeanor while working with an emotional child. Requires strong ethics and accountability. Must be able to complete clear and legible documentation. Duties Full Time 1st and 3rd shift MHWs start at $18.00/hr 3rd Shift receives $1.50 shift differential between the hours of 10:30 PM and 6:30 AM. 2nd Shift starts at $20.50/hr Part-Time MHWs start at $16/hr. with opportunity to earn incentive pay. Full-time MHWs work a 4-day shift plus 1 day on the opposite 4-day shift The Mental Health Worker (MHW) is a direct-care / counselor position to children. Supervise the children in care and are responsible for their safety. Guide the children through their daily routines and activities while documenting events and observations specific to each child. Teach and model appropriate social skills and coping skills to the children. Provide support for children who may be experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression or struggling with anger management. The MHW is Responsible for communicating pertinent information to the child's therapist so that treatment can be properly assessed. Hoffman Homes is an Equal Opportunity Employer '
