Job Description

Are you passionate about early childhood education and ready to take the lead in creating a classroom where toddlers can learn, grow, and thrive? MOOKS Childcare Center is seeking a nurturing, dependable, energetic, and organized Lead Toddler Teacher to join our Village! Our Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, loving, structured, and engaging classroom environment while supporting each child's individual development. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their classroom, demonstrates initiative, works well as part of a team, and understands the unique needs of toddlers.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the daily operation and routine of the toddler classroom. Provide active supervision and maintain a safe and nurturing environment. Plan and implement fun, developmentally appropriate learning experiences and curriculum. Support children's language, cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and self-help development. Use positive guidance techniques to help toddlers learn appropriate ways to communicate and manage emotions. Complete observations and required developmental documentation. Maintain accurate daily records and communicate children's meals, naps, diapering/toileting, activities, and other important information to families. Build positive and professional relationships with children and families. Maintain an organized, clean, welcoming, and engaging classroom. Guide and work collaboratively with assistant teachers, floaters, and other classroom support staff. Communicate classroom needs or concerns with administration. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, professional development, and center events. Follow MOOKS Childcare Center policies, Pennsylvania childcare regulations, health and safety requirements, and Keystone STARS quality standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. CDA, Associate Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Previous childcare or early childhood classroom experience required. Toddler and/or Lead Teacher experience strongly preferred. Must meet Pennsylvania requirements for the assigned childcare position. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required childcare clearances, health documentation, and required training. Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to communicate effectively with families and coworkers. Must demonstrate patience, initiative, teamwork, and a genuine passion for working with young children. Who We're Looking For We're looking for more than someone to supervise a classroom.
