Duties Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote growth development in and encourage active participation and curiosity. Supervise children during play, learning activities, meals, rest periods, and outdoor time to ensure safety and well-being at all times. Foster a nurturing environment that supports social-emotional development and positive behavior management strategies. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparent and supportive relationships. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, attendance, developmental observations, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists to meet individual requirements. Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety regulations including pediatric first aid and CPR protocols. Skills College degree from an accredited college/university Must have a CDA certification or the desire to obtain a CDA certification once hired Proven knowledge of Keystone STARS is Pennsylvania's Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) for early childhood education Proven experience working with children in daycare centers or preschool settings; bilingual proficiency is highly valued. Strong knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education best practices, and behavior management techniques. Certification in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), pediatric first aid, and mandated reporting laws. Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners in both languages fluently. Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs; familiarity with special education strategies is a plus. Exceptional classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and independence. Demonstrated ability to handle child supervision responsibly while maintaining a lively yet organized atmosphere.
