The Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA is seeking qualified and dedicated staff who enjoy working with children for the
MERICLE FAMILY CENTER
in Pittston, PA!AVAILABLE SHIFT
Full Time Teacher- Must be able to work within the hours of 8:15am and 5:00pm Preschool Teachers should be kind, patient and LOVE working with children!
Basic Requirements:
- Highschool Diploma
- 2 years of experience working with children
- Health assessment with a TB test
- Criminal Background Check
- Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- NSOR Clearance
- 2 Letters of reference
- Pediatric CPR/First Certification (Preferred but not required, will train)
- Mandated Reporter Training (Preferred but not required, will train)
- Health and Safety Basics Training (Preferred but not required, will train)
- Fire Safety and Water Safety Training (Preferred but not required, will train)
General Function:
Under the general direction of the Child Care Director, a teacher will provide a quality program, create and maintain lesson plans, food program paperwork, and daily routine.Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma, associate or bachelor's degree a plus but not required and at least two years of experience working with children. Communicate with parents daily Follow daily feeding/eating schedules (posted in classroom) Follow correct diaper changing procedures (posted in classroom) Follow daily schedule (posted in classroom) Inform Child Care Director and/or Assistant Child Care Director of any problems that arise with discipline, staff, illness, supplies, fund raising, public relations, or maintenance Maintain staff/child ratio (Make us aware if you are not in ratio) Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other mandatory staff functions Straighten classroom and clean appliances before leaving each day Administer medication if appointed by Child Care Director/Assistant Child Care Director Meet state standards for child care Provide stimulation to the children by rocking, holding, talking to, singing, and playing Follow guidelines for DPW and Keystone Stars Maintain proper classroom records, lesson plans and daily reports Complete reports on incidents that occur and obtain proper signaturesJob Type:
