The University of Michigan Towsley Children's House has an opening for a Child Care Center Teacher in their infant classroom. We are seeking an educator who chose a career in early childhood education because of the positive, lasting impacts their work has on children and families. The U-M Children's Centers provide care for close to 500 children of faculty, staff and students from all over the world. The centers employ over 120 staff members. The play based programs are designed by teaching teams adapting to meet the needs and interests of the children. We maintain low teacher to child ratios so relationships can flourish. Provide developmentally appropriate early learning experiences for children enrolled in the program Effectively manage groups of young children within state required ratios to ensure a safe and supportive environment Collaborate with children, families, and colleagues to cultivate an environment of respectful relationships Use technology to document and reflect on the experiences of children for the purpose of assessment, planning and family engagement Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience as defined by child care licensing Minimum of 2 years in a similar role in a diverse childcare setting Familiarity with a variety of early childhood education methods and theories This role is primarily onsite with occasional remote work offered based on Center business needs.
