Who We Are:
The purpose of The Academy for Little Children is to provide high quality responsive care and a learning environment for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 10 years old. We offer an educational program based upon developmentally appropriate practices in order to help the children develop a strong foundation and gain a positive attitude toward learning. We focus on the children's cognitive, socioemotional and physical growth in order to promote an integrated and effective approach to learning. We maintain a warm, loving environment to instill in the children that this is a place where they can trust, be happy and feel secure.
What You Will Do:
As a teacher at The Academy for Little Children, you will join a family of educators dedicated to helping each child succeed. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Monthly and daily lesson planning Assessment of students Daily communication with families Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom Maintaining compliance with DCYF, DHS, and BrightStars standards Following center policies Working with coworkers as an active team member

With that in mind, we do have the following requirements and preferences for applicants: Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education college-level credits (preferred) Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or closely-related field (preferred) Minimum of 1 year experience working with children Must have taken, or be willing to take, RIELDS Foundations, Curriculum courses, and CPR Must complete 20 hours of professional development per year upon hire Must possess excellent work attendance
