Our whole-child approach combines intentional academic learning with social-emotional development to help children build the skills, confidence, and independence they need for future school success. Through our WhizWorld Whole-Child Framework™ , teachers support academic readiness while helping children develop emotional awareness, self-regulation, positive social skills, and healthy ways to express themselves. About the Position We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who is confident leading and managing a classroom independently. The ideal candidate understands classroom routines, positive behavior guidance, developmentally appropriate instruction, and effective supervision. We need a teacher who can maintain classroom structure, keep children actively engaged in learning, and support both their academic and social-emotional development . This is not an entry-level teaching position. Previous classroom experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Lead and effectively manage daily classroom routines and learning activities Create a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment Implement developmentally appropriate lessons that promote early literacy, language, math, cognitive, and school-readiness skills Incorporate WhizWorld's Whole-Child Framework™ and emotional wellness practices into daily classroom routines Support children's emotional awareness, self-regulation, confidence, independence, and positive social skills Monitor children's developmental and academic progress Provide active supervision and maintain children's safety Use positive, age-appropriate behavior guidance and redirection Effectively manage transitions, meals, learning periods, and other daily routines Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership Follow center policies and South Carolina childcare licensing requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous experience in a licensed childcare center or early childhood classroom strongly preferred Strong classroom management skills required Experience implementing developmentally appropriate early learning activities Experience working with toddlers and/or preschool-aged children preferred Dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative Ability to work independently and collaboratively Must meet South Carolina childcare background and employment requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred Early childhood education coursework or credentials are a plus Who Will Thrive in This Role This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who can confidently take ownership of a classroom and understands that high-quality early childhood education includes both academic readiness and emotional wellness .
