Approximately $19,890 per school year About the Position Excel Gymnastics & Tumble Academy is excited to be developing a brand-new morning preschool program serving children in 2K, 3K, and 4K . Our goal is to create a small, hands-on preschool program with a maximum enrollment of approximately 30 students divided between two classrooms : Combined 2K/3K classroom 4K classroom We are looking for a dependable, organized, creative, and experienced Preschool Director & Lead 4K Teacher who is excited about helping us build this program from the ground up. This person will work closely with ownership to help develop the structure and direction of the preschool while overseeing the program's day-to-day operations. In addition to serving as Preschool Director, this individual will also serve as the Lead Teacher for our 4K classroom . This is a unique opportunity for an experienced preschool educator who is ready to take the next step into leadership and wants to have a voice in creating a new program from its beginning. Preschool Director Responsibilities The Preschool Director will work closely with ownership to: Research, select, and help implement an age-appropriate curriculum for our 2K, 3K, and 4K students Help establish the preschool's daily schedule, routines, classroom structure, and expectations Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training preschool teachers and assistants Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to preschool staff Help manage staff schedules and classroom coverage Maintain consistent expectations between both classrooms Communicate professionally and positively with parents and families Help plan special activities, celebrations, educational experiences, and preschool events Assist with student enrollment and classroom placement Help establish policies and procedures for the preschool program Maintain a safe, organized, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment Help ensure the program follows applicable policies, procedures, and requirements Work closely with ownership on the continued development, growth, and improvement of the preschool Lead 4K Teacher Responsibilities In addition to the Director role, this individual will serve as the Lead Teacher for our 4K classroom and will: Implement the selected 4K curriculum Develop and prepare engaging daily lessons and hands-on learning activities Provide a balance of structured learning, play, movement, creativity, and social development Help prepare students academically, socially, and emotionally for kindergarten Monitor student development and communicate progress with families Maintain an organized, welcoming, and engaging classroom Provide leadership and direction to classroom assistants Build positive and supportive relationships with students and their families Encourage independence, confidence, positive behavior, and a love of learning Schedule & Compensation This position is scheduled: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-1:00 PM The preschool itself is expected to operate approximately 8:00/8:30 AM-12:00 PM . The additional time before and after students are present will be used for lesson preparation, administrative responsibilities, staff communication, classroom preparation, parent communication, and other program needs. This is a 195-day school-year position rather than a year-round position. Compensation is $17.00 per hour , based on approximately 6 scheduled hours per day and 30 hours per week. Total contract compensation is approximately $19,890 per school year.Qualifications Our ideal candidate:
Has previous experience working with preschool-aged children Has experience leading a preschool or early childhood classroom Has a strong understanding of early childhood development Is organized, dependable, professional, and self-motivated Has strong leadership and classroom management skills Is comfortable providing guidance and direction to other staff members Communicates professionally with parents, staff, and children Is creative and excited about helping develop a new program Is comfortable balancing classroom teaching with leadership and administrative responsibilities Is able to take initiative and confidently handle day-to-day situations Works well as part of a team and is comfortable working closely with ownership Is passionate about creating a positive, nurturing, structured, and engaging environment for young children Previous experience as a Lead Preschool Teacher, Assistant Director, Preschool Director, or in a similar early childhood leadership role is preferred. Early Childhood Education degrees, credentials, certifications, or other relevant education and training are preferred and should be included with your application. Additional Requirements Candidates must be willing and able to complete all required background checks and screenings required for employment in a preschool/childcare setting. Candidates should be comfortable working with young children in an active environment and performing normal classroom responsibilities throughout the day.
