In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom where children can develop essential skills through play, exploration, and guided instruction. Your passion for early childhood development will help foster a love of learning and support each child's unique growth trajectory. Responsibilities Organizes classroom and materials needed for the day between 8:30 and 9:00 and stays until the last child leaves and the classroom is in order at 2:30 Completes the ASQ evaluation for each child twice a year. Conducts 2 student conferences each year. Assesses each child's individual growth and developmental needs to effectively plan and provide appropriate educational experiences, resources, and learning environments. Develops lesson plans that are developmentally, appropriate aligning with the DHS standards - TN-ELDS Communicate with parents, send out daily photos & weekly notes through the Brightwheel application, informing them of current and upcoming classroom activities. Responsible for creating and maintaining an educational portfolio on each child including assessments, anecdotal notes, and samples of work to be shared with parents at conferences Attends special events as outlined in the employment agreement Informs and/or discusses any concerns with children with the Director Experience Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or early childhood education settings is essential. Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching experience with preschool age children. Strong communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and community Certification in first aid and CPR is required Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs.
