Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, math skills, social skills, and overall childhood development. Provide attentive toddler care, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining a safe, clean classroom environment. Use effective behavior management techniques to encourage positive interactions and emotional regulation among children. Manage classroom activities with strong classroom management skills to ensure a structured yet flexible learning space. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through clear and compassionate dialogue. Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety. Incorporate early intervention strategies when needed to support children with special education needs or developmental delays. Maintain detailed lesson plans that align with child development standards and educational best practices. Foster literacy education through storytelling, singing, and interactive reading sessions tailored for toddlers. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining current first aid and CPR certifications. Skills Extensive experience working with young children in classroom settings or childcare environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, including toddler-specific needs and behaviors. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational activities for preschool-aged children. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and community resources. Ability to manage classroom dynamics with patience, organization, and professionalism. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols. Experience with Montessori methods or other preschool teaching philosophies is a plus. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is preferred.
