Learning Zone / DTD MidTN is looking for a motivated and dependable Assistant Preschool Director to partner closely with our Director in creating an exceptional experience for our children, families, and team members. This role is perfect for someone who loves early childhood education but is also ready to grow as a leader. You will help oversee daily school operations, support and develop teachers, build relationships with families, and ensure our school continues to meet the high standards our families expect. What You'll Do As Assistant Director, you will work alongside the Director to help lead the day-to-day operations of the school, including: Support daily routines to ensure the school operates effectively and efficiently Help lead, coach, encourage, and support our teaching team Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining team members Support enrollment and retention efforts while creating an exceptional experience for current and prospective families Build positive relationships with parents and professionally address questions, concerns, and feedback Observe classrooms and help strengthen teaching practices and overall classroom quality Maintain compliance with Tennessee DHS licensing requirements and company standards Audit and maintain required staff, child, licensing, health, safety, and inspection documentation Assist with school events and family engagement activities Step into classrooms or other areas of the school when additional support is needed Partner with the Director and company leadership to accomplish school goals Be ready to problem-solve, take initiative, and jump in wherever needed What We're Looking For High school diploma and Early Childhood Education credential; college degree preferred Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience; 3+ years preferred Previous leadership or management experience strongly preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills Ability to professionally and effectively handle parent or staff concerns Strong organization, follow-through, and accountability Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and multitask Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Flexibility with scheduling, including occasional evening or weekend events Positive, professional, and approachable personality Ability to think on your feet and find solutions Willingness to jump in and support your team wherever needed A genuine passion for caring for, motivating, and uplifting young lives Benefits Team members at Learning Zone / DTD MidTN enjoy a robust benefits package that includes: Weekly Pay Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Insurance plans starting as low as $29.38/week 401(k) with company contributions Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Professional Development Opportunities Employee Assistance Program Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Referral Program starting at $500 for Part-Time referrals and $1,000 for Full-Time referrals Grow Your Leadership Career With Us Great schools need great teachers—but they also need leaders who are willing to support those teachers, build relationships with families, solve problems, and create an environment where everyone can be successful.
