Duties Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities, lesson planning, and educational exercises aligned with early childhood education standards. Facilitate literacy and math activities that stimulate early learning skills, incorporating educational technologies when appropriate. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong home-school connections. Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt instructional methods for students with special needs or disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and compliance with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Assist in implementing behavior management plans and classroom routines that support a structured learning environment. Support emergency procedures by maintaining current first aid and CPR certifications to ensure immediate response when needed. Use proofreading and tutoring skills to help individual students improve literacy or numeracy skills as directed by lead teachers. Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education practices, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with early childhood curricula such as Montessori or other progressive educational approaches is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to plan lessons and manage classroom activities effectively. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in educational compliance and regulation understanding is encouraged.
