We are dedicated to providing the highest quality care and education for children, and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. About the Role The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a dynamic and nurturing learning environment that fosters the development of children in their care. This role requires a deep understanding of early childhood education principles, a love for working with young children, and a commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Implementation:
Effectively implement The Goddard School's play-based curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the developmental needs and interests of the children. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Create a stimulating and interactive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning. Integrate a variety of teaching methods and strategies to cater to different learning styles.
Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment where children feel safe, respected, and valued. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and social-emotional development. Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being. Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
Child Assessment and Development:
Observe and assess children's development in all areas, including cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development. Communicate effectively with parents about their child's development and progress. Identify and address individual needs of children, providing support and differentiated instruction as needed.
Parent Communication and Engagement:
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents. Communicate regularly with parents about classroom activities, their child's progress, and any concerns. Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss children's development and address any questions or concerns. Encourage parent involvement in the classroom and school activities.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Collaborate effectively with other teachers and staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events. Contribute to the overall success of the school by sharing ideas, supporting colleagues, and promoting a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or an Associates degree in an ECE related field. Experience teaching in a licensed preschool or pre-K setting. Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth and development. Ability to create a fun, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
