Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that support child development milestones, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Manage classroom activities with effective behavior management strategies to foster positive interactions and emotional regulation. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behaviors, and developmental needs to ensure collaborative support. Conduct assessments of children's growth using standardized testing methods when appropriate, and adapt lesson plans accordingly. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety. Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons, organize classroom routines, and integrate special education or early intervention strategies as needed. Ensure all childcare practices adhere to health and safety standards, including first aid and CPR certification requirements. Experience Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or toddler care environments. Strong background in early childhood education principles, childhood development theories, and classroom management techniques. Experience developing curricula that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Familiarity with special education needs and early intervention programs to support diverse learners. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners effectively. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures. Prior experience teaching physical education or implementing movement-based activities is advantageous.
