b) First Aid certification; will need to be renewed every two (2) years by expiration date. c) CPR Infant/Toddler certification; will need to be renewed every two (2) years by expiration date CPR/First Aid must be for Adult/Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED d) Background Check completed TDFPS e) High School Diploma or GED Have at least 2 years in the Early Childhood Field Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. OR Have an Associate, Baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education or a field related to early childhood with experience in teaching preschool children. If a degree is in another field, one must be willing to obtain Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), and a willingness to work toward a Degree in early childhood within 90 days of hire. Duties:
Maintains open lines of communications with immediate supervisor, subordinates, parents, and volunteers. Assist lead teacher in creating lesson plans and implementing a curriculum that is age and skill appropriate. Has classroom material ready at all times. Documents children's files daily on class attendance & nutrition, health, and behavior monitoring. Reinforces classroom and environmental safety. Screens children for disabilities and submits reports to the Mental Health and Disability components. Involves parents in educational activities to enhance their role as the assistant to principal influence on the child's education and development. Provides materials appropriate to the child's age and level of development. Serves the cultural background of the children using classroom materials, activities and related languages. Promotes a high self-esteem, is a good role model, and follows the center's behavior management system and code of ethics. Is required to adhere to CCR Minimum Standards and Texas Rising Star Policies and Procedures Attends morning inspections-keeping children clean and well groomed, serving meals and snacks, preparing for nap or rest time, and toilet training. Participates in the annual center's assessments. Participates in Pre-Service training once a year and on-going in-service workshops as required by the program. Maintains adequate amount of supplies at the center. Helps all childcare providers put together monthly thematic bulletin boards in the classrooms. Attends cluster meetings, parent meetings, and workshops. Works at De Colores Child Development Center's Ceremonies and various social events. Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher or Director. Must be able to travel to all three locations when needed to fill child teacher ratios.
Compensation:
$10.00 No Childcare Experience
  • Will Train $10.
50 more than 6 months of Childcare Experience with or without Childcare trainings $11.50+ 2 or more years childcare experience with 24 hours or more of up to date childcare trainings $15.50 CDA and more than 2 years of childcare experience $16.00 AA in ECD with up to 24 hours of childcare trainings $17.00 AA in ECD or AA in another major with CDA or BA in another major
