Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early childhood development across all domains, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills Provide attentive toddler care by supporting their daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and rest periods with patience and professionalism Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques to foster a respectful learning environment Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on children's progress, milestones, and any concerns while maintaining confidentiality Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety Conduct ongoing child development assessments to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and safety at all times Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and implementing individualized support for children with special needs or early intervention plans. Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and welfare are prioritized at all times. Provide attentive toddler care by supporting their daily routines, including feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices. Manage classroom activities with effective behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and self-regulation among children. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that complies with health and safety regulations. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or informal updates. Experience Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, especially with infants and toddlers Strong background in curriculum development tailored to early childhood stages with an emphasis on literacy education and childhood development principles Knowledge of special education practices and early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs Experience managing classrooms effectively through classroom management techniques suitable for young children Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with parents, colleagues, and community partners about children's progress and classroom activities Prior experience teaching physical education or implementing standardized testing in early childhood settings is a plus Valid first aid and CPR certification is required to ensure safety during all activities Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings such as preschools or childcare centers is highly preferred. Knowledge of child development principles, childhood education best practices, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with curriculum development focused on literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and social-emotional learning. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is a plus. CPR Certification must be current. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Experience working with children who have special needs or require early intervention services is advantageous. Understanding of mandated reporting laws to ensure compliance with child welfare regulations. Must be able to pass a background check and FBI fingerprint check. Must have a food handler's permit and first aid. Required pre-service orientation training. Infant/toddler and safe sleep training. Required HHSC documentation.
