Duties Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development. Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management. Engage children in hands-on activities that support child development instruction and early intervention strategies tailored to individual needs. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to build strong partnerships. Maintain classroom organization, manage daily routines, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification requirements. Assess children's progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate; adapt teaching methods accordingly. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and participate in ongoing professional development focused on childhood development and preschool teaching best practices. Requirements Proven experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting. Strong knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and working with toddlers is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork within the educational community. Valid certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential. Ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development while adhering to childcare standards.
