Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An 8 to 12-week contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)/Staff Pharmacist at a psychiatric facility in Cypress, TX. This role offers a chance to take leadership responsibility in staffing and pharmaceutical operations within a 128-bed facility serving an average daily census of 103 patients. Licensed Texas Pharmacists are invited to apply for this position with a start date as soon as possible.
Location:
Cypress, Texas (Houston area)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Possible weekend coverage (8:00 AM to 2:30 PM) if per diem coverage is unavailable On-call coverage may be required to cover gaps
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing staffing and daily pharmacy operations Collaborate closely with a team consisting of two pharmacy technicians and three PRN pharmacists Ensure compliance with state pharmacy regulations and facility policies Utilize HCS order entry system (training provided) effectively to manage medication orders Provide support in psychiatric specialty pharmaceutical care Manage staffing schedules and coverage to maintain optimal pharmacy function
Qualifications:
Current and valid Texas Pharmacist license required Experience in pharmacy management or PIC roles, preferably in psychiatric or hospital settings Ability to work independently and coordinate with support staff for seamless operations Strong organizational and communication skills Familiarity with HCS or similar order entry systems is a plus; training available This is an excellent contract opportunity for pharmacists seeking to expand leadership experience in a supportive, specialized environment.
