Available Help for . Position Summary The Toddler Teacher Aide supports the Lead Toddler Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. The aide assists with classroom routines, supervision, learning activities, meals, diapering/toileting, cleaning, and other daily responsibilities while helping each child feel safe, loved, and supported. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and activities. Maintain active supervision of children at all times. Engage with children through play, conversation, reading, music, movement, and age-appropriate learning activities. Assist with diaper changes, toilet training, handwashing, and other personal-care routines. Assist children during meals and snacks while encouraging age-appropriate independence. Help prepare materials and set up activities before they are needed. Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and inviting classroom. Clean and sanitize toys, tables, changing areas, sleeping areas, and classroom materials as required. Assist with nap time, including preparing sleeping areas and actively supervising children. Help maintain accurate classroom counts and follow procedures during classroom transitions. Follow all center policies regarding health, safety, sanitation, supervision, and child guidance. Use positive, age-appropriate redirection and behavior guidance. Immediately report injuries, incidents, safety concerns, or unusual child behavior to the Lead Teacher or Director. Assist with classroom documentation as requested. Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and administration. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional-development opportunities. Assist in other classrooms or areas of the center when needed. Perform other duties related to the care and safety of children as assigned by administration. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred/required according to center and licensing requirements. Must meet all applicable childcare licensing requirements. Previous experience working with toddlers is preferred. Must be dependable, patient, nurturing, energetic, and willing to work as part of a team. Must be able to follow directions and accept feedback from Lead Teachers and administration. Must complete required background checks and training. CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the center. Physical Requirements Employee must be able to: Frequently bend, kneel, sit on the floor, stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom. Lift and carry children as needed. Respond quickly to children and emergency situations. Participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Perform routine classroom cleaning and sanitation duties. Performance Expectations supervision or job responsibilities. The Toddler Teacher Aide is expected to demonstrate dependability, punctuality, teamwork, professionalism, active supervision, cleanliness, patience, and genuine care for children.
