A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.

No experience required:
We provide full On-the-Job Training (OJT) and will support you until you feel confident and competent.
Paid onboarding:
New Hope covers the cost of your background check, required training courses, and pays your regular wage rate while you learn.
Growth opportunities:
Once fully trained, you will have opportunities to pick up extra hours by substituting during regular preschool hours (8:30-2:30). When permanent preschool teacher positions open up, our internal part-time staff are always considered first ahead of outside candidates.
Hours & Schedule Daily Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM (or earlier once all children are picked up and closing tasks are done).
Transition Time:
Arrive at 2:00 PM to assist day teachers and help the children smoothly transition into the afternoon program.
Afternoon Routine:
Lead snack service, recess/gross motor play, and a simple, fun teacher-planned activity.
Core Responsibilities Supervision & Safety:
Manage a classroom to ensure children are safe, supervised, and engaged in developmentally appropriate play.
Christ-Centered Care:
Show patience, joy, and a nurturing heart to preschoolers who may be tired at the end of their school day.
Daily Care & Cleaning:
Assist with restroom monitoring, diaper changing, and standard closing cleanup (cleaning and disinfecting classroom spaces).
What We Are Looking For:
Because this is an entry-level position, we place the highest value on your character, aptitude, and "heart" for children and ministry.

A patient demeanor and an energetic heart for Christ and preschoolers. An aptitude for providing excellent, attentive care. A collaborative spirit to work alongside our morning staff. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a clear criminal background check. Prepared to immediately complete 12 hours of pre-service training (unless state qualifications bypass this requirement). Proof of current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to take a class immediately upon hire).
