Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and classroom management strategies. Conduct ongoing assessments of child development and tailor activities to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention support. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior. Lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical movement, cognitive development, and social interaction among toddlers and preschoolers. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of incidents or developmental assessments. Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum updates, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to a team-oriented approach to early childhood education. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting; classroom experience preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or early intervention are a plus. Strong communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork. Familiarity with standardized testing methods used in early childhood education. Ability to implement lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activities, and social-emotional learning.
