Preschool Teacher - Three-Year-Old Classroom First Christian Church Preschool (FCCP) | Lufkin, Texas About FCCP First Christian Church Preschool is a ministry of First Christian Church, providing a nurturing, faith-based environment where children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships. We are seeking a patient, dependable, and enthusiastic teacher for our three-year-old classroom. Position Summary The Three-Year-Old Teacher plans and leads developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support children's cognitive, communication, physical, social-emotional, and self-help skills. This position requires someone who can establish consistent routines, actively engage children, and work closely with families and fellow staff members. Responsibilities Create a welcoming classroom where each child feels safe, valued, and included. Prepare and implement weekly lesson plans using FCCP's curriculum. Teach through learning centers, sensory exploration, stories, music, movement, art, and outdoor play. Introduce letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and name recognition through age-appropriate activities. Incorporate Bible stories, prayer, and Christian values into classroom experiences. Provide active supervision and follow school health and safety procedures. Guide behavior through positive redirection, clear expectations, and support with managing emotions. Help children develop independence in toileting, handwashing, dressing, and caring for belongings. Observe and document children's progress and prepare for parent-teacher conferences. Communicate professionally with families through Brightwheel and daily interactions. Keep the classroom, toys, and learning materials clean, organized, and ready for use. Collaborate with the director, instructional coach, and classroom staff. Attend required meetings and training and follow FCCP policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to complete required background checks and employment screenings. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Willingness to complete required child care training. Ability to lead activities consistent with FCCP's Christian mission. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional communication. Patience, flexibility, and the ability to respond calmly to challenging situations. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching or caring for preschool-age children, especially three-year-olds. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, early childhood coursework, or a related degree. Experience with play-based learning, positive behavior guidance, and classroom routines. Familiarity with Brightwheel or similar family communication tools. Physical and Classroom Expectations This position involves active participation in children's daily routines, including sitting on the floor, bending, standing, moving throughout the classroom and playground, and assisting children with daily care.
