We are seeking animal-savvy individuals interested in helping care for the canines entrusted to us, as well as the small sanctuary animals that call our property home. The right applicant must be a team player, familiar with animal behavior, hard-working and physically capable, not afraid to get dirty, comfortable interacting with clients, and, most importantly, possess a naturally positive outlook and attitude. This is hard, honest work, but it is incredibly rewarding. We provide boarding for dogs that are people-friendly, with options of private rooms or social group settings. We are proud to offer a unique, home-style dog hotel where dogs enjoy fresh country air, room to run, and plenty of enrichment. Our property is also home to a small animal sanctuary with goats, ducks, geese, chickens, and other farm animals, so every team member plays a role in providing excellent care to all of our animals.

Kennel Attendant Duties Include:

Feeding and medicating dogs Assisting with the daily care of our sanctuary animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring their well-being Providing a safe environment for dogs to interact with each other and our staff Monitoring any "Special Needs" dogs, who may be older or medically fragile Providing friendly and professional customer service Constantly learning and accepting constructive feedback gracefully Maintaining our high standards of cleanliness inside and outside of our facility (this includes poop scooping and other unattractive chores!) Maneuvering and moving kennel equipment as needed Working different shifts as staffing needs require To perform this job successfully, individuals working at Paw Paw's must be able to perform the above essential duties. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this position.

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand and walk for extended periods, safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs, safely handle large, strong dogs that may push, pull, or jump, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

Previous animal experience (personal or professional) Comfortable working around both dogs and small farm animals Ability to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team Ability to make quick, independent, critical decisions and act on them accordingly when necessary Excellent communication skills; respectful, friendly, and professional with clients and coworkers Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record 18 + to apply

Pay:

$11.00 - $14.00 per hour
