Assistant Director for Extra Curricular Activities Fort Montessori Academy -
Murphy, TX Pay:
$18-$20 per hour, based on experience Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 40 Hours per Week Fort Montessori Academy is looking for a friendly, organized, dependable person who has childcare and office administration experience and is well versed in using computers. Prior Experience is required. This is a unique position that combines administrative/front-desk work with coordinating children's programs . During the first part of the day, you will assist with office responsibilities, parent communication, enrollments, phone calls, and other administrative tasks. In the afternoon, you will help run our After-School Program and supervise activities at our affiliated Fort Gymnastics program. This is a great position for someone who enjoys variety and likes working both in an office environment and around children. You do not need previous experience in gymnastics, camps, or after-school programming. We will train the right person. Who Is the Ideal Candidate? The ideal candidate is someone who has worked in a childcare setting and understands the importance of being dependable, organized, friendly, and professional. We are especially interested in candidates who have previous experience in child-care , office administrative and customer-service. Strong computer skills are important . You should be comfortable using email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, web-based applications, and learning new software. You should also enjoy being around children and be comfortable transitioning from office responsibilities in the morning to a more active environment in the afternoon. Responsibilities Administrative & Front Desk for Camps and Gymnastics Program Answer incoming phone calls and assist parents and prospective families Respond to emails and parent inquiries Greet parents and families Assist with tours and prospective-family inquiries Assist with enrollments, schedules, rosters, and record keeping Perform general office and computer-based work Learn and use our childcare and gymnastics software systems Assist management with day-to-day administrative projects After-School Program & Camps Help coordinate and run our daily After-School Program for elementary-age children Supervise children and maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment Organize games, activities, homework time, arts and crafts, and other age-appropriate activities Communicate with parents during pick-up Maintain accurate attendance and child counts Help organize and run Summer Camp and school-break camps Assist with planning activities, games, field trips, and special events Prepare supplies, schedules, and materials needed for camps and children's programs Help coordinate extracurricular activities and other special programs Gymnastics Program Help supervise evening gymnastics activities Assist instructors and staff as needed Help make sure classes operate smoothly and on schedule Assist parents and children during class times Help maintain an organized and welcoming environment Previous gymnastics experience is not required. Training will be provided. Marketing & Social Media Take photos and short videos of activities and programs Capture content for Instagram, TikTok, Reels, and other social media Assist with simple marketing and promotional projects Help showcase our Montessori, gymnastics, aquatics, camps, and children's programs Previous professional marketing or social-media experience is not required. Qualifications Previous professional childcare experience required. (5 years at least working with children) Previous office and administrative experience required. (3 years at least) Good computer and technology skills Comfortable using email, Excel, Word, and web-based applications Able and willing to learn new software Good verbal and written communication skills Friendly and professional when communicating with parents and customers Organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities Comfortable working with school-age children Willing to learn new responsibilities and take initiative Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance Must be 21 years of age or older Must be able to pass required background checks CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain Reliable transportation required Experience in gymnastics, aquatics, camps, social media, or after-school programming is NOT required. We will provide training. Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-12:30 PM Front desk, administrative work, parent communication, enrollments, marketing, camp/program planning, and office responsibilities 12:30 PM-2:30 PM Midday Break 2:30 PM-3:45 PM After-School Program 3:45 PM-6:00 PM Gymnastics Program 40 hours per week This position requires consistent availability until 6:00 PM Monday through Friday . Pay & Benefits $18-$20 per hour, based on experience Full-time - 40 hours per week Free childcare for 1 child after 6 months of employment, subject to availability and child's ability to participate in our program 5 paid vacation days 6 paid national holidays $100 per month toward health insurance after 6 months of employment Employee discounts Training provided for our programs and systems About Us Fort Montessori Academy is a family-owned childcare center in Murphy, Texas, serving the community for over 15 years. We are affiliated with Fort Aquatics and Fort Gymnastics , allowing us to offer a unique combination of childcare, after-school care, summer camps, swimming, gymnastics, and extracurricular programs. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, good with computers, enjoys working with people and children, and prefers a job with variety rather than doing the same thing all day.
