Responsibilities Develop and implement dynamic curriculum plans tailored to toddler and preschool-aged children, incorporating best practices in early childhood education and literacy development Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect, independence, and cooperation Engage children in age-appropriate activities that support childhood development milestones, including social skills, motor skills, language acquisition, and early math concepts Utilize child development instruction techniques to support individual learning styles and developmental needs, including special education and early intervention strategies when necessary Maintain detailed lesson plans and progress records aligned with educational standards and standardized testing requirements Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones regularly and transparently Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations at all times Requirements Proven classroom experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques Experience with teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, and Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is highly desirable Familiarity with child welfare laws, mandated reporting laws, and best practices in behavior management Excellent communication skills to effectively work with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners Certification or training in early childhood education or preschool teaching preferred; relevant coursework or degrees are a plus Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate child development instruction while fostering creativity and independence Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience is required. Experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, Head Start, Pre-K, private school, or elementary school preferred. CDA, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or Education is a plus. Strong classroom management and communication skills.
