Sign-on bonus available after successful completion of the 90-day probationary/introductory period A local licensed child care center is seeking an experienced, dependable, patient, and nurturing Toddler Teacher/Caregiver to join our Early Childhood Education team. The ideal candidate will have previous professional experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care environment and understand the unique developmental, emotional, physical, and social needs of young children. This position requires an educator who can provide a structured, engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom while helping toddlers build independence, communication skills, positive behavior, healthy eating habits, and age-appropriate self-care skills.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must:

Have a High School Diploma or GED Have previous professional experience working with children in a licensed child care center, preschool, early learning center, or similar licensed environment Understand that babysitting experience alone does not meet the preferred professional child care experience requirement Successfully complete all required background checks Meet all applicable child care licensing requirements Complete required annual training and professional-development hours Be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule Demonstrate good judgment and prudence when interacting with and supervising toddlers Be able to follow center policies, licensing requirements, classroom procedures, and daily schedules Be physically able to actively supervise toddlers throughout the day Be willing to participate in required staff meetings, training, and professional development CDA Credential preferred, but not required. Preferred Knowledge and Experience Qualified applicants should have knowledge of or experience with: Toddler classroom management Toddler growth and development Creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment Implementing the Lillio Curriculum Following established classroom routines and daily schedules Age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities Active supervision Positive behavior guidance and redirection Language and communication development Social-emotional development Toilet learning and potty-training techniques USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements Healthy meal and snack practices Proper meal-service procedures Classroom sanitation and hygiene Child care licensing requirements Maintaining classroom documentation and records Communicating professionally with parents, administrators, and coworkers Essential Responsibilities The Toddler Teacher/Caregiver will: Provide direct care, supervision, and instruction for toddlers throughout the day Maintain active supervision and awareness of all children in the classroom Implement assigned curriculum, lesson plans, and developmentally appropriate activities Follow the center's established daily schedule and classroom routines Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom Provide opportunities for age-appropriate learning through play, music, movement, books, art, sensory activities, and hands-on experiences Encourage language development through conversation, songs, reading, repetition, and positive interaction Use positive classroom-management and behavior-guidance techniques Model appropriate behaviors and help children learn sharing, patience, communication, and cooperation Assist children with transitions throughout the day Help toddlers develop age-appropriate independence and self-help skills Assist with toileting, diapering, hygiene, handwashing, and other personal-care needs in accordance with center policy and licensing requirements Potty Training and Toilet Learning The Toddler Teacher/Caregiver will: Assist children who are developmentally ready with proper potty-training and toilet-learning techniques Follow established center procedures and individualized potty-training plans Encourage children to use the restroom at appropriate intervals without punishment, embarrassment, or pressure Use positive reinforcement, encouragement, and age-appropriate language during the toilet-learning process Assist children with dressing and undressing as developmentally appropriate Promote proper wiping, flushing, and handwashing habits Maintain appropriate sanitation practices during all toileting and diapering activities Accurately document toileting activities when required Communicate professionally with parents and administration regarding a child's potty-training progress, challenges, or concerns Work collaboratively with families to encourage consistency between home and school when appropriate Healthy Eating and Mealtime Responsibilities The Toddler Teacher/Caregiver will: Follow

meal-service requirements and center procedures Encourage children to develop healthy eating habits Model positive eating behaviors during meals and snacks Encourage children to try a variety of healthy foods without forcing children to eat Promote age-appropriate independence during meals Assist children with proper use of cups, utensils, plates, and napkins Encourage appropriate table manners and positive mealtime behaviors Maintain a calm and pleasant meal environment Ensure children are appropriately seated and actively supervised during meals and snacks Follow center procedures concerning food allergies, special diets, and meal substitutions Never use food as punishment or reward Maintain proper sanitation before, during, and after meals Complete required meal-service documentation when assigned Health, Safety, and Supervision The Toddler Teacher/Caregiver will: Actively supervise children at all times Follow established child-to-staff ratios Conduct routine name-to-face counts and attendance checks as required Maintain safe classroom and playground environments Follow health, sanitation, diapering, toileting, and handwashing procedures Monitor children for signs of illness, injury, behavioral concerns, or developmental changes Immediately report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, or unusual incidents in accordance with center policy Complete required incident reports and documentation accurately and timely Follow emergency procedures, evacuation procedures, and licensing requirements Documentation and Communication The Toddler Teacher/Caregiver will: Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation Complete attendance, meal, toileting, incident, developmental, and classroom records as assigned Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and center operations Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians Provide appropriate daily updates concerning children's activities and routines Notify administration of behavioral, developmental, safety, or operational concerns Work cooperatively with coworkers and administrative staff Follow all center communication protocols Professional Expectations Teachers are expected to: Arrive to work on time and prepared for the day Maintain professional appearance and conduct Use appropriate language around children Treat every child with patience, dignity, respect, and compassion Avoid yelling, threatening, shaming, humiliating, or using inappropriate disciplinary techniques Maintain appropriate professional boundaries Follow all center policies and procedures Accept coaching, training, and constructive feedback Participate in required annual professional-development training Attend one required Saturday training session each quarter Perform additional duties as assigned by center administration What We Are Looking For We are seeking an educator who is: Dependable. Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Employees are also required to attend one Saturday staff training session per quarter.
