This position helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks-5 years old while supporting classroom teachers with daily routines, activities, and supervision.

Responsibilities:

Provide classroom support by assisting teachers in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Maintain proper supervision of children at all times while following Texas Minimum Standards and center policies. Assist with daily routines including diapering, feeding, nap time, potty training, transitions, and classroom clean-up. Help implement age-appropriate activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Engage with children through play, conversation, books, music, and hands-on learning activities. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Support classroom teachers with lesson plans, activities, and daily documentation. Step into classrooms when teachers need breaks, coverage, or additional support. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

Must meet Texas childcare licensing requirements for the position. Must have a passion for working with young children and supporting their development. Ability to work with children of different ages and adapt to changing classroom needs. Dependable, patient, positive, and able to work as part of a team. CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Previous childcare experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, lift, and engage with children throughout the day. Ability to lift and carry children when needed. Ability to maintain an active and attentive presence in the classroom. The Floater Teacher plays an important role in helping our center provide consistent care, support our teaching team, and ensure every child receives a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate learning experience.
