In the Pines is a fully outdoor nature program, located in Summit Park, for children between the ages of 3-6. We are looking for a teacher aid to work with us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We are looking for someone who is engaging, playful and has experience working with children. Must be reliable, punctual and can commit to the entirety of the school year (Aug 24- May 28). Candidates must pass background check and have current CPR/First Aid before starting (reimbursement available). Pay is between 18.00-23.00/hr . based on experience. Some of the key responsibilities of your role include: Aiding lead teacher with activities, crafts, projects etc. Helping children with their snacks/ lunch, gear and •toileting Engaging with children; asking questions, reinforcing rules in a kind and respectful manner, encouraging healthy risks, and promoting team building. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, hike on uneven surfaces and be outdoors for long periods of time, in various elements and weather conditions Building relationships and communicating with parents, regarding: behavior issues, toileting, or other noteworthy events about their child.
Requirements:
Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning Strong work ethic, self-driven, punctual, positive attitude (especially during stressful situations) Position available
