The ideal candidate is kind, patient, energetic, and hands-on while also being able to maintain clear boundaries, consistent routines, and a well-managed classroom. Responsibilities Teach and lead a daily age-appropriate curriculum that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences through art, sensory play, music, movement, stories, and classroom activities. Build warm, respectful relationships with children and help each child feel safe, included, and valued. Communicate with parents daily about their child's activities, progress, needs, and important classroom updates. Maintain the established classroom schedule, routines, expectations, and boundaries. Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior-management techniques. Supervise children closely and maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom. Prepare lesson plans, classroom materials, and learning centers. Observe children's development and document progress, milestones, and concerns as required. Support children with meals, rest time, toileting, transitions, and other daily care needs. Work collaboratively with assistant teachers, administrators, and other staff members. Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health procedures, and safety standards. Communicate promptly and professionally regarding incidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, or developmental needs. Participate in staff meetings, training, classroom cleaning, and center events.
