The perfect candidate will compliment a well-functioning team, be open to additional training, punctual, dependable, have a professional demeanor and most of all, love caring for little ones!
WORK SCHEDULE
8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Traditional Montessori workday with 1 hour lunchbreak. 30-35 hours a week. Must be available to cover the classroom from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, if requested. You will assist with opening the school at 8:00 AM and work alongside a co-lead who covers the afternoon shift.
Duties Include:
  • Diapering
  • Bottle-feeding, snuggling and facilitating naptimes
  • Sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces after each use
  • Singing silly songs
  • Working with teammates to ensure proper care of each infant and coverage in the classroom at all times.
  • Reading books
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, incidents, and milestones using the Brightwheel App
  • Communicating regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and any concerns
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must pass a sex offender and criminal background check to be considered for employment.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Candidates cannot use intoxicants of any kind. This includes vaping, marijuana and cigarettes.
  • High School Diploma
  • Infant/Toddler CDA
  • 10-Hour Preservice Training (VA)
  • 3-Hour Annual Health & Safety Update (VA)
  • SIDS/Safe Sleep Practices Certificate
  • 3-5 years working in a lead teacher capacity caring for infants or toddlers
  • Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certificate required
  • Negative TB Skin Test required
  • Candidate is expected to have a professional demeanor, be punctual for their work assignment, be willing to work as a part of a team, complete assignment and tasks in a timely manner, wear a uniform and practice good hygiene.
  • Previous experience working with infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written desired.
  • Must be at least 25 years of age be trustworthy, practice ethical behavior and possess critical thinking skills.
  • Candidate should be willing to complete introductory Montessori Training (20 hours)
  • Candidate must be willing to complete 120 day trial period with Monarch Montessori School in order to become a permanent part of our contractor pool.
  • Strong command of English
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young infants.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents on sleeping, feeding and daily habits.
