Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Afternoon Care Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team on a part-time basis. Duties Supervise children during afternoon hours, ensuring their safety through attentive child supervision and behavior management. Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including play-based learning and social interaction. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and daily experiences to foster strong partnerships. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports early childhood education standards and safety protocols. Follow all mandated reporting laws and health guidelines, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures, to ensure children's well-being. Assist with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and supporting individual needs of children with diverse abilities. Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum activities that align with child development instruction principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar early childhood settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development stages, toddler care, and preschool curriculum is preferred. Demonstrated classroom management skills and experience implementing behavior management strategies are important. Certification in first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR, or related health & safety training is required or highly desirable. Proven ability to communicate clearly with parents and team members while maintaining professionalism in a childcare environment. Previous nannying or babysitting experience working with young children can be beneficial in understanding individual child needs.
