Company Overview Centreville Day School (CDS) is a vibrant, state-licensed Christian preschool and has been a ministry of the Centreville United Methodist Church for 40 years. Serving approximately 100 children aged 2.5 to 6 years, CDS is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where young learners thrive through engaging hands on learning exepriences along with daily playground times, weekly music and monthly chapel times and in house field trips. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to guide our 3-year-old classroom. In this role, you will create a dynamic, supportive learning environment that promotes early childhood development, literacy, and social-emotional growth. Your leadership will inspire young children to explore, learn, and develop essential skills through innovative lesson planning and classroom management. This position is Tuesdays-Friday 8:30-12:30 with possible hours until 2:00. Responsibilities Implement age-appropriate curriculum tailored to 3-year-olds, incorporating songs, finger plays, crafts and more Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills Manage daily classroom activities, including circle time, play-based learning, and structured lessons Utilize behavior management techniques to support children's emotional regulation and social interactions Assess individual child progress through observations and standardized testing when applicable (twice a year). Collaborate with families to communicate developmental milestones and address individual needs. Conduct at leaset one parent/teacher conference a year Ensure compliance with licensing requirments and mandated reporting laws and child welfare standards Experience A Degree in Early Childhood or related field or 3-5 years experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and lesson planning for early childhood education Knowledge of early intervention strategies for diverse learners Experience managing classroom behavior and implementing child development instruction techniques Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Previous roles involving preschool teaching or daycare supervision preferred; private school experience is a plus

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
