At Right Start Early Childhood Center, we believe every child deserves a caring, safe, and stimulating environment to thrive. We're looking for an energetic and compassionate Preschool Teacher to help our youngest learners grow, discover, and build lasting relationships. As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you'll create a warm and welcoming classroom where children feel secure and excited to learn. You'll be responsible for providing a variety of engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Whether it's teaching foundational skills like colors, shapes, and numbers, or simply offering a comforting hand, your role will be crucial in shaping these little ones' early experiences. You'll collaborate with a supportive team of educators and work closely with parents to encourage growth at both school and home. We're looking for someone who models patience, positive communication, and a calm demeanor; creating an environment where children can explore, make mistakes, and develop confidence. - 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED)
- Virginia Preservice Training
- First Aid/ CPR
- Food Handler's Card
- TB Screening
- 3 months programmatic experience in group care of children ;1 year early childhood certificate of at least 30 hrs., child development credential by organization approved by department, or teaching diploma from internationally/nationally recognized Montessori organization
- 6 months programmatic experience in group care of children; 12 hours of training in child development, playground safety, health and safety issues, and preventing and reporting child abuse
- Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Right Start's program and philosophy
