Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, flexible, and dependable Part-Time Afternoon Float to join our childcare team. This role supports multiple classrooms throughout the afternoon by assisting teachers, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and helping ensure smooth transitions at the end of the day. The ideal candidate demonstrates a love for children and a commitment to supporting a Christ-centered atmosphere.
Hours:
Part-time, typically afternoon hours (example: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM-Flexible),
Monday-Friday Responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed Help supervise children during playtime, transitions, and end-of-day routines Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Support diapering, toileting, feeding, and general care routines (as assigned) Engage children through play, reading, and positive interaction Help combine classrooms at the end of the day as ratios change Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff and families
Faith-Based Expectations:
Support and uphold the Christian values and mission of the center Model kindness, patience, and Christ-like behavior in all interactions Participate in prayer, Bible stories, and faith-based activities when assisting in classrooms
Qualifications:
Experience working with young children preferred Ability to be flexible and adapt to different classrooms and age groups Strong teamwork and communication skills Must pass background check and meet state licensing requirements
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the classroom Comfortable working on the floor with children
