Job Summary Victory Tabernacle Child Development Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Toddler Teacher to join our team. The Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children while supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our center is a Christian-based child development center , and teachers are expected to support and participate in an environment centered around biblical principles, prayer, kindness, respect, and Christ-like character. Primary Responsibilities Provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for toddlers. Maintain active supervision of children at all times and follow all health and safety procedures. Follow the center's daily schedule and classroom routines. Plan and provide age-appropriate learning activities and experiences. Support children's development through play, hands-on activities, music, movement, stories, and exploration. Implement the center's toddler curriculum and daily learning activities. Encourage language development, independence, social skills, and positive interactions with peers. Assist children with age-appropriate self-help skills, including eating, handwashing, toileting/diapering, and clean-up. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom. Follow proper diapering, handwashing, sanitizing, and classroom cleaning procedures. Complete required classroom documentation, including attendance, daily reports, incident reports, and developmental observations as needed. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and needs. Work cooperatively with classroom staff, floaters, administration, and other center employees. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required. Follow all center policies and procedures as well as applicable Virginia child care regulations. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff. Help create a positive classroom environment that reflects the values and mission of Victory Tabernacle Child Development Center. Christian Environment The Toddler Teacher should be comfortable working in a Christian-based child care environment and supporting the center's biblical values and teachings.

Responsibilities may include:

Participating in classroom prayer and Bible lessons. Incorporating biblical principles such as kindness, patience, honesty, compassion, and respect into daily interactions. Modeling positive, Christ-like behavior toward children, families, and coworkers. Supporting the center's mission of helping children grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred. Experience in a licensed child care or early childhood setting is a plus. Must be dependable, responsible, patient, and nurturing. Must be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and coworkers. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be willing to learn and follow center policies and procedures. Must meet applicable Virginia Department of Social Services child care employment requirements. Must be able to complete required background checks, health requirements, and training. Must be physically able to safely interact with and care for toddlers, including lifting and carrying children when necessary.
