Job Description

Skyline CAP is seeking a Preschool Classroom Aide for our Head Start program located in Greene County. Our Head Start program provides a quality preschool experience for at-risk, 3-4 year children. We're looking for someone with experience or just a love for working with preschoolers, who can support our children by helping to meet their needs throughout the day. We will provide training in various areas to enhance your knowledge and skills. This position will work 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Our centers operate on a public school calendar, including inclement weather closings. Our Head Start program is closed during the summer months. This is a wonderful schedule for someone who wants a shorter (6 to 6 1/2 hr) work day with a solid Monday-Friday schedule. Hourly rate is $16.10 To apply, please submit your resume through Indeed. EOE. Duties Assist teachers and teacher assistants in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored for preschool-aged children. Support classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and structured environment conducive to learning, using Conscious Discipline. Engage with students during activities, promoting literacy through interactive reading sessions and hands-on learning experiences. Provide individual support to children, ensuring their unique needs are met. Help supervise children during playtime, meals, outside time and transitions between activities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom to create a safe and healthy learning environment. Requirements Previous experience working with preschool aged children is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development practices. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff. Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children. Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all students.
