Job Description
Skyline CAP, Inc. is seeking a Teacher for our Head Start classroom located in Greene County (Stanardsville) VA. Our teacher will work with a teacher assistant and classroom aide to provide a quality preschool experience for at-risk 3-4-year-old children. Our program uses a PreK comprehensive, research-based curriculum that includes lesson plans. To support students' social/emotional growth and needs, we use the Conscious Discipline curriculum. Our teachers receive ongoing support and training to develop teaching skills, techniques and build community among our teaching staff. Our teachers never work evenings or weekends, and all classroom supplies are provided each year. Our program operates on a public-school schedule; closed in the summer months. Applicants must have an associate degree in early childhood education or a bachelor's degree in ECE or a related field. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week for approximately 37 weeks per year. Our full benefits include health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, paid holidays, sick leave, personal leave and retirement plan contribution. Hourly position works 8 hours daily at a rate of $33.00-$36.95, depending on education. As required by state law, we're a part of the VQB5 (Virginia's Quality Measurement and Improvement System).
