The City of Winchester Parks & Recreation Department is looking for enthusiastic, caring, and dependable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Childcare Assistants. This position is an excellent opportunity for students or individuals interested in education, child development, psychology, recreation, social work, or youth services who want to gain valuable hands-on experience while making a positive impact in their community. What You'll Do Supervise school-age children in a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment during after-school programs. Plan and lead educational, recreational, and enrichment activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and personal growth. Build positive relationships with children while serving as a mentor and role model. Collaborate with Parks & Recreation staff to deliver high-quality programs and special events. Support other department divisions and assist with additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For A passion for working with children and supporting their development. Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. A positive attitude, creativity, and the ability to create an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. Possess a valid driver's license. Certified in, or able to obtain, Infant, Child, and Adult CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Medication Training.
