Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to toddler development stages, incorporating literacy education, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Lead daily classroom activities that promote curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management strategies. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that adheres to child welfare standards and mandated reporting laws. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to behavior or development. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality classroom management and instructional consistency. Conduct ongoing assessments of child development through observations and standardized testing when appropriate; adjust lesson plans accordingly. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations by ensuring first aid and CPR certifications are current; oversee cleanliness and organization of the classroom space. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, particularly with toddlers aged 1-3 years old. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and early intervention strategies. Demonstrated ability in classroom management, behavior management, and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans. Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration. Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is required. Experience with preschool teaching, daycare environments, or private school settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of literacy education techniques, physical education activities for young children, and basic math concepts suitable for toddlers.
