POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The ECEAP Lead Teacher develops a safe, inclusive, and engaging program environment for children and their families. The ECEAP Lead Teacher builds lasting and meaningful relationships with children and families through thoughtful conversations and regular updates on children s development and learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cultivates positive relationships with children, families and co-workers remaining dedicated to the learning and success of each unique child Leads assigned classroom by supervising, designing, engaging, and nurturing children in purposeful programming Adheres to ECEAP, Washington State DCYF Licensing, Early Achievers and YMCA standards as implemented by Program Supervisor and ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and safety standards. Conducts ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of individual children as required, and support in maintaining required program records as requested by ECEAP and program supervisor. Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child s needs and progress; conducts family conferences; connects families to the Y. Maintains program site, equipment inventory, and required program records to ensure a safe, well-operating learning center Attends and engages with coworkers and participants in family nights, family home visits, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training Demonstrate through action and interaction with staff, Y participants and the public the Four Character Development Principles of the

YMCA:

Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have, or willing to receive, Early Childhood Education Certificate within 5 years of hire. Previous experience working with children in a developmental, diverse setting required. STARTING PAY

$20.35/hr
