Job Description

About the Role Columbia Crest Montessori is hiring Infant / Toddler Lead Teachers to join our Kenmore or Lake Stevens campuses for the current school year. We are seeking an inspiring, dedicated early childhood educator to lead our Infant/Toddler classroom (ages 6 weeks to 3 years). We welcome applicants with backgrounds in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or early childhood teaching. The ideal candidate has a profound understanding of early brain development, excellent classroom management skills, and a warm, encouraging communication style. In this role, you will foster independence, confidence, and a peaceful, structured environment tailored to early developmental milestones.
Key Responsibilities Classroom Leadership:
Prepare and maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and developmentally appropriate environment designed for infants and toddlers.
Curriculum & Care:
Implement engaging early learning activities, support toilet training and self-care skills, track each child's developmental milestones, and adapt to individual sleeping and eating schedules.
Community & Culture:
Cultivate a peaceful, respectful classroom community through positive guidance, gentle routines, and nurturing emotional support.
Parent Partnership:
Build strong, collaborative relationships with families through regular daily updates, progress notes, parent-teacher conferences, and school community events.
Team Collaboration:
Supervise, mentor, and work collaboratively with classroom assistants to maintain a calm, supportive, and seamless daily routine.
Professional Growth:
Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current on early learning best practices.
Qualifications & Experience Education:
Degree, credential, or college coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field (such as an Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Child Development Associate / CDA).
Experience:
Prior experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed child care center, preschool, or early learning environment.
Skills:
Deep patience, strong observational skills, excellent communication, and a gentle, nurturing presence.
Requirements:
Ability to pass a Washington State MERIT comprehensive background check and meet all DCYF early learning regulatory requirements (portable background check, negative TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and initial MERIT training requirements).
