Because we are a small in-home program, our teachers become a very important part of our daycare family. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys being around children, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a positive, long-term relationship with our team and the families we care for. Who We're Looking For We are hoping to find someone who is kind, dependable, patient, nurturing, and genuinely enjoys working with young children. Reliability is extremely important! Please only apply if you are reliable and can commit to your given schedule. Attendance is extremely important! The right person for our team will: Truly enjoy spending time with and caring for children Be warm, patient, attentive, and nurturing Be dependable and take pride in being someone others can count on Arrive on time and be prepared for the day Be able to commit consistently to their agreed-upon schedule Understand that consistency is especially important in a small childcare setting Communicate openly and respectfully with our team Be comfortable working closely with others in a small, home-like environment Be willing to jump in and help wherever needed Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn Be calm and patient when children are having difficult moments Enjoy getting down on the floor, playing, reading, creating, singing, and being actively involved with the children Be comfortable with the everyday realities of childcare—including messes, cleaning, diapering/toileting, and lots of movement! Treat every child with kindness, patience, dignity, and respect Is extremely good at multitasking Can physically lift and carry children

•Reliability Because we are a small program, each person on our team makes a big difference. When someone is here, it helps the whole day run smoothly and allows us to give the children the attention and care they deserve. We completely understand that people get sick and that unexpected things happen. Life happens, and we want our staff to feel comfortable communicating with us when they truly need to. At the same time, we are looking for someone who is able to consistently show up for their scheduled shifts and make their commitment to our team a priority. Job Duties:

Our teachers help create a fun, nurturing, and engaging environment throughout the day.

Responsibilities include:

Actively supervising and caring for children Engaging children in age-appropriate play and activities Reading, singing, doing art, sensory activities, and other learning experiences Supporting children's social and emotional development Helping children learn age-appropriate independence and social skills Assisting with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, naps, and daily routines Following safe sleep and health/safety practices Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment Assisting with classroom and activity preparation Communicating positively with coworkers and families Following daycare policies and procedures Completing required training and documentation Helping wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly

Experience & Requirements:

Previous childcare experience is preferred, but we are also willing to consider someone who has strong experience caring for children in a nanny, babysitting, preschool, teaching, or family setting. Applicants must be able to meet all applicable Washington State requirements for their position, including required background checks, health requirements, training, and certifications. Depending on the position, this may include requirements such as Child Care Basics, First Aid/CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, Safe Sleep training, and other applicable DCYF requirements.
