DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT
Provide direct, specially designed instruction to 3
- 5 year old students with/without special needs.
Collaborate with the ECEAP Special Education Teaching team. Will provide instruction for ECEAP/SPED/Pay To Go/Head Start students in an inclusive classroom. If you are a current Bethel School District employee, you must complete an
INTERNAL
application. All other applicants, including current substitutes, must complete the standard application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid and appropriate certificate and endorsements for Washington State required.
- Endorsement required: Special Education P-3 and ECE.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods.
- Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS
- Demonstrate a knowledge in and application of Performance Learning/State Essential Learnings.
- Successful experience working with preschool or elementary special education students.
- Understanding of and success at implementing classroom behavior management programs for individual students and entire classes.
- Proven ability to work successfully with regular education and special education staff in providing instruction, coordinating programs, resources and inclusion.
- Successful experience creating and implementing curricular activities for special needs students.
- Organizational ability and positive attitude needed to successfully manage student files, participate in MDT and coordinate IEPs.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of state regulations for special education, early childhood education, behavior management, developmentally appropriate practices.
- Provides support to special education team by attending district meetings/child assessment team and inservices as a building representative.
Must provide proof of passing TB (tuberculosis) test PRIOR to hire.
