Job Description

Part-Time Substitute Teacher We're looking for a flexible, dependable, and caring Substitute Teacher to join our team! This position plays an important role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly whenever one of our teachers is out. Some shifts are planned in advance, while others may be last-minute, so flexibility and adaptability are key. As a substitute, you'll jump into classrooms as needed, follow the classroom's daily routine, engage with children through play and learning, and help provide a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Every classroom is a little different, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable adapting quickly and working with children of various ages.
What You'll Be Doing:
Stepping into classrooms and following the daily routine and lesson plans. Supervising and engaging with children through play and learning. Assisting with daily care routines, including diapering, meals, and transitions when needed. Creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Communicating with teachers and leadership about how the day went.
Schedule & Hours:
This is a flexible, part-time position. Hours will vary based on staffing needs and teacher absences. Some weeks you may not be needed at all, while other weeks you could work up to 20-25 hours. On average, we have approximately two teachers out each week, creating regular substitute opportunities. We're happy to work around your availability. If you're only available on certain days, we'll only contact you for those days. While we're ideally looking for someone with a fairly open schedule, we're also happy to consider applicants who have limited but consistent availability.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
Dependable and punctual. Flexible and able to adapt to different classrooms and routines. Comfortable working with children of different ages. A strong communicator and team player. Willing to jump in wherever help is needed. Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. If you enjoy working with children and are looking for a flexible position with a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you!
